Guardian Caps

Guardian Caps are a soft extra layer of padding that slips over the players helmet shown in the picture on the right. The Guardian Cap does not prevent all concussions or head injuries, but studies have shown that an extra layer of padding outside the helmet does reduce the impact of hits to the head. Here's a quote directly from the Guardian Cap website:

"Physics shows that a soft outer layer reduces initial impact severity, allowing less force to reach the head — similar to soft walls in NASCAR or car airbags. Guardian Caps offer that same added protection for athletes."

Guardian Caps are not a required piece of equipment for kids to play football, but if you'd like your athlete to wear one, SPWYF offers parents the chance to purchase them at our cost during registration. Purchasing retail or via the Guardian Cap website will cost $75+, but if you order them through SPWYF your cost is $65.
