Background
The Sun Prairie School District built a 2nd high school in town to accommodate the ever-growing population in Sun Prairie. With Sun Prairie West High School opening its doors in September of 2022, the Sun Prairie Youth Football Organization decided to split into two programs that would field youth players in Sun Prairie that were slated to attend either Sun Prairie East or Sun Prairie West high schools. With both high school football programs in Sun Prairie being very different schematically, it was important to start teaching players those schemes and plays at the youth level to help build championship level high school programs. With that, Sun Prairie West Youth Football was born.
Philosophy
SPWYF is committed to teaching safe and effective football fundamentals, while creating a culture built on hard work, dedication, commitment, and fun. Our program introduces players to the techniques, values, and structure of the Sun Prairie West High School football program with an emphasis on growth, not just winning. We also introduce young athletes to Varsity Head Coach Josh O’Connor’s 3 keys to success:

USA Football
SPWYF follows the rules and regulations set by USA Football, the sport's national governing body, and all SPWYF coaches are USA Football certified before stepping foot on a football field.
