Youth Tackle Football
Sun Prairie West Youth Football is dedicated to teaching the sport of football to Sun Prairie area 4th-8th grade kids in a safe, supportive, team building and fun learning environment. We’re focused on building a family type culture in the west side Sun Prairie community where players, coaches, parents/guardians work together to be successful on and (more importantly) off the field.

When
Practice starts Monday, August 3rd
with the last games in mid-October
Where
Practices are held on the large field behind Prairie View Middle School.
Home games are held at Sun Prairie West High School, or Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium.
Practices
Practice runs Monday thru Thursday the first 3 weeks. Times chosen by coaches.
After 3 weeks, practices will drop down to 3 days a week with coaches deciding days and times.
Games
Teams are scheduled to play 7 games.
4th thru 6th grades play Saturday mornings.
7th and 8th grades play Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights.
Equipment
Helmets, shoulder pads, pants, mouth guards, practice and game jerseys are all provided.
Cleats are required but not provided. A collection of used cleats is available if needed.
Extra Costs
The only extra costs are for things like gloves, wrist bands or any other equipment that isn't essential, but kids like to have.
Frequently Asked Questions
When Does Registration Start and End?
April 1st through April 30th will be our early bird registration period with a $50 discount given for signing up early.
May 1st through June 30th will be our standard registration period.
When Will Equipment be Issued?
Equipment will be handed out 1 to 2 weeks before practice starts.
Does the Program Provide Guardian Caps for Players?
No, but we do offer the opportunity to purchase Guardian Caps through the program at our cost before the season as we get discounts from our suppliers.
Is There Some Kind of Financial Assistance Offered to Families Who May Not Be Able to Afford the Full Registration Fee?
Yes, a limited number of scholarships are available upon request.
